Police identify remains found in Illinois ditch as Kentucky woman

TRENTON, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — Illinois State Police have identified the remains of a body found in a ditch near Trenton last week.

Police found the body on Friday, Aug. 28, in the ditch of the Illinois Route 160 on-ramp to New U.S. Route 50 westbound near Trenton.

The body was identified as 46-year-old Charity M. Greene of Harlan County, Ky.

The final results of an autopsy completed on Saturday, Aug. 29, are still pending.

This is an ongoing investigation.

Police are asking for the public's assistance in providing information on Greene's whereabouts leading up to the discovery of her body.
