More than 600 new coronavirus cases in Victoria

Premier Daniel Andrews confirmed 627 cases of COVID-19 were added to the Victorian tally.
Eight more people died of the disease in the state in the past day.
It follows a record 723 cases yesterday.

It is the second biggest day for new coronavirus cases since the pandemic began in Australia.
Mr Andrews said one-in-four coronavirus patients meant to be in self-isolation have not been at home when visited by authorities.
Victoria is moving to visit everyone who has been instructed to self-isolate, either because they are a positive COVID-19 case or a close contact of one.

More than 500 visits were conducted yesterday – close to double the number on Wednesday.
"It is simply unacceptable if you have COVID-19 for you to be out," Premier Daniel Andrews said.
Elsewhere, just one new case has been diagnosed in Queensland – a returned traveller in quarantine.
In NSW, 21 new cases have been reported, with two in hotel quarantine.
