Several Celebs Get Called Out Over Their Responses To Protests Amid George Floyd’s Murder

As tensions run high amid the death of George Floyd, people online feel some celebrities are showing their true colors in regard to the recent protests.

As the saying goes: All skin folk ain’t kinfolk, and that’s what many have been saying to describe some Black celebs who have been on the opposing side of the recent protests. Some of the celebs who have recently been on called out include Shameik Moore, B. Simone, Lil Wayne, Lori Harvey, and more. People online have started “canceling” them over their criticism of some people’s violence during protests. Some of the celebs, predominately Black celebs, have more or less implied that the killings of Black people are the fault of their own. While other celebs are opposing people destroying businesses.

Thanks to Bossip, there is now a complete list of celebrities who have made us rethink supporting them. On Saturday, #OdellBeckhamJr called out protestors who have acted out in violence during the movement. “Losing fathers mothers aunties uncles, etc…. VIOLENCE isn’t not the answer … cops killing us is not the answer, us killin cops is not the answer. VIOLENCE WILL ONLY BRING MORE VIOLENCE, “ said the Cleveland Browns wide receiver. Along with Beckham, Lil Wayne, who has previously shared ignorant opinions about Black issues, said the Black community needs to stop blaming Black issues on one particular race or group. “We have to stop placing the blame on the whole force and the whole everybody of a certain race or everybody with a badge. You wanna protest about something, know what we protesting about,” he said during an Instagram Live conversation with Fat Joe.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Shameik Moore raised the most hell this past week after posting several questionable tweets and claiming that #Rosa Parks could have taken a Black-owned taxi cab instead of the bus if she would have know they were available, which completely neglected the fact that she should have never been refused the right to sit anywhere. Outside of the Black community, Heidi Klum, model, and ex-wife of Seal, shared a tweet with the hashtag #alllivesmatter. “Unity in diversity #alllivesmatter,” Klum wrote. She then tweeted in response to a post that quotes the words of Martin Luther King Jr.

“I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” She captioned the image with “I have the same dream for my 4 children.” Other celebs like Shekinah and Virgil Abloh were also included in the drag fest online. SheKinah went on Instagram live and questioned what did Gucci do to Black people. But she seems to be forgetting when Gucci made a blackface inspired sweater. People have also decided to give B. Simone the boot after she tweeted. “I’m not living to please man I’m here to please God at the end of the day I am a CHRISTIAN ! I’m God-fearing I have to answer to Him ! I’m going to ask myself WWJD not what would an angry black woman do ! I am angry, but i am also trying to be Godly.”
