“Look, I don’t know if I’m going to have a career after this but, f**k that,” said during an impassioned speech at a protest in London on May 25. “Black lives have always mattered. We have always been important, we have always meant something, we have always succeeded regardless, and now is the time. … I ain’t waiting,” said the 28-year-old in Hyde Park. With his eyes watery from tears, Boyega said: “Every black person here remembers the time when another person reminded you that you were black. I need you to understand how painful this shit is. I need you to understand how painful it is to be reminded every day that your race means nothing, and that isn’t the case anymore.”

An image of Boyega at the protest circulated through social media, capturing the attention of several celeb creatives including LaToya Morgan, Jordan Peele, Matthew Cherry, and more. “I would work with John Boyega, and I urge other Non-Black creators to affirm that they have his back as well,” tweeted Cheery. “Yo @ JohnBoyega, just say the word.  LUCKY and grateful to have you act in anything I’m working on,” said Tracy Y Oliver. In response to the image which was captioned, “Look, I don’t know if I’m going to have a career after this but, f**k that,” Peele tweeted, “We got you, John.”
