BlackOut Party, the new social media platform helping #StopHateForProfit

Blackout Party is a social media platform designed for Black empowerment. It is the brainchild of Ricardo Pendergrass, who became frustrated with the larger traditional social platforms because they utilize algorithms that hide posts tagged with the word “Black.”
Furthermore, posts discussing racial issues relevant to the Black community are often flagged or removed for violating community standards. These same sites permit white supremacists to share and disseminate information freely. Blackout Party is a safe haven where the Black community can virtually fellowship, meet new friends, get updates on current events, and celebrate our unique cultural heritage.

Much like other sites, users can share, like, comment, follow, and directly message other users. However, what sets Blackout Party apart from other social networking platforms is its unapologetically Black stance and commitment to uplifting Black people and Black voices. It is a place for us to share our stories, experiences, educational opportunities, advertise and list job postings.

Anyone in support of racial equality can join the site, as long as they are 18 years old or older. Users can access the site from any web browser. Learn more by visiting blackoutparty.org and be sure to follow Blackout Party on Twitter (@blackoutpartyHQ).
