Actor and Comedian Jerry Stiller Has Passed Away At 92

Famous for his role as Frank Constanza in the sitcom Seinfeld, comedian Jerry Stiller has passed away at the age of 92 due to natural causes. Actor Ben Stiller, who is also the son of Jerry Stiller, shared the tragic news on Twitter.⠀⠀⠀

“I’m sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes,” Ben said. He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you, Dad.”

In 2015, Stiller lost his wife, Anne Meara, after having suffered multiple strokes. The couple married in 1954, a year after they met. Together, they were the proud parents of two children and two grandchildren.

Jerry Stiller found success in the 1960s as a comedian alongside his wife Anne Meara when the pair teamed up to become the comedy team, Stiller and Meara. Their success would continue for another decade before Stiller encountered a drought.

In the early 1990s, Stiller remerged himself in the Hollywood light after garnishing the role of Frank Costanza, the short-tempered father of George Constanza, on the sitcom Seinfeld. Stiller went on to play the role until 1998. For a job well-done, Stiller earned an Emmy nomination for Guest Actor in a Comedy Series in 1997 and won an American Comedy Award for Funniest Male Guest Appearance in a TV series in 1998.

Once Seinfeld had ended, it was reported that the comedian had plans to retire, but, then, was asked to join the cast of ”The King of Queens” by Kevin James, the show’s lead actor. Stiller would go on to portray the role of Arthur Spooner, the insane father of Carrie Heffernan, Doug Heffernan’s wife. Stiller occupied this role from 1998 until 2007.

Stiller had created an impressive career for himself over the span of 60 years as an actor and comedian. Outside of Seinfeld and The King of Queens, Stiller had also worked done work in several films, including Zoolander, Hairspray, On the Line, and many more.

Our condolences to the Stiller Family.
